Lord Mayfield is all for developing a fighter jet. He tags Mr. Carrington to supply him with the secret plan for this. As their discussion begins, a crucial document goes missing. If the document is not traced in time, the entire nation could face a threat. How will Poirot go about this case which is not as simple as it seems?

Lord Mayfield, the Minister of Armaments in the British Cabinet is keen on the manufacturing of a fighter aircraft. He ropes in the Air Marshall, Mr. Carrington, to take this plan forward. The discussion is extremely confidential and even a minor slip can bring a national disaster. As luck would have it, a critical document pertaining to this confidential plan goes missing and Lord Mayfield is dumbstruck. Poirot, being the guest in Mayfield's party that evening takes over the case. Initially what seem to be obvious indications pertaining to the missing document, lead the case nowhere. Poirot has to start afresh. Will the confidential plan of fighter craft remain so or will it be exposed for the sake of national safety? Answers to these questions remain hidden in Poirot's probing.
